Qur'an Ayah of the day, 17 Jumada Al Oula 1473

Then, even after that, your hearts were hardened and became as rocks, or worse than rocks, for hardness. For indeed there are rocks from out which rivers gush, and indeed there are rocks which split asunder so that water floweth from them. And indeed there are rocks which fall down for the fear of Allah. Allah is not unaware of what ye do.

Surah Al-Baqara(2:74)

Prophetic Commentary on the Qur'an (Tafseer of the Prophet (pbuh))

The Statement of Allah: "And verily, the dwellers of AI-Hijr (Rocky Tract, i.e., Thamud people) denied the Messengers." (V.15:80)

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:

(While we were going for the Battle of Tabuk and when we reached the places of the dwellers of Al- Hijr), Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said about the dwellers of Al-Hijr (to us). "Do not enter (the dwelling places) of these people unless you enter weeping, but if you weep not, then do not enter upon them, lest you be afflicted with what they were afflicted with."
