And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast.

Hadith of the day, 28 Dhul Hijjah 1443

Sahih al-Bukhari

Hajj (Pilgrimage)

Chapter: The superiority of Makkah and its buildings, and the statement of Allah Ta'ala

Narrated `Aisha:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to me, "Were your people not close to the Pre-Islamic period of ignorance, I would have demolished the Ka`ba and would have rebuilt it on its original foundations laid by Abraham (for Quraish had curtailed its building), and I would have built a back door (too)."

Sahih al-Bukhari 1585
