Qur'an Ayah of the day, 23 Shaban 1440

Throw that which is in thy right hand! It will eat up that which they have made. Lo! that which they have made is but a wizard's artifice, and a wizard shall not be successful to whatever point (of skill) he may attain.

Hadith of the day, 23 Shaban 1440

Sahih al-Bukhari

Friday Prayer

Chapter: One Mu'adh-dhin on Friday

Narrated As-Saib bin Yazid:

The person who increased the number of Adhans for the Jumua prayers to three was `Uthman bin `Affan and it was when the number of the (Muslim) people of Medina had increased. In the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ) there was only one Mu'adh-dhin and the Adhan used to be pronounced only after the Imam had taken his seat (i.e. on the pulpit).
